In this article, we will discuss the topic of How to connect PC to PC on a Cisco packet Tracer in a Virtual environment. Cisco Packet Tracer is a powerful network simulation tool that allows users to design, build, and test network topologies in a virtual environment. Connecting two PCs using Cisco Packet Tracer can be a great way to learn about the basics of computer networking and to gain hands-on experience with configuring network devices

We will discuss detailed step-by-step instructions on How to connect PC to PC on the Cisco packet tracer and How to configure it

1) Installing and setting up the software

The first step is to Download the Cisco Packet Tracer software from their official site. You can download Cisco Packet Tracer From Here. Choose software according to your operating system. If you are using windows download the windows based cisco packet tracer.

After you successfully download the cisco packet tracer next step is to install the cisco packet tracer on your system. After you successfully installed the software next we can look at how to connect PC to PC on the cisco packet tracer

2) Using the Software

After you successfully installed the software next step is to look at how to use this software. The first step is to open the Cisco packet tracer from the start menu on windows and search Cisco packet tracker. You can refer to the below image

After you opened the software you will see the interface as per the below image

Next, we can Look at How to connect a PC to a Pc on this software. For to do this first step is select PC From the end device option below. You can refer to the below image on How to select the end device and select PC from that option

On the left bottom, you can see the select option End Devices or you can alternatively click Ctrl+Alt+V. This will select the End devices option and After clicking the option you can see that so many options like PC, Laptop, Server, etc come there. From that option click on pc and Drag them on the above graph. You can refer to the below image

As mentioned above image you can see that two PC are dragged into the graph. Do it like this so we can Look at how to connect two PCs. The next step is to create a connection between these two PCs. To do this Select the connections option next to End devices. You can refer to the below image on How to select the connections option and create a connection between these two PCs.

As mentioned above click on the connections tab or you can alternatively press Ctrl+ALt+O. This will open the connections tab and the next step is to select click on the first option as you can see in the below image

After you click that option hover the mouse on the 1st PC and drag that connection line to the 2nd PC this will make a connection line between the 1st PC and the 2nd PC. Next, we can look at how we can connect these two PC through an IP address. You can refer to the below image to see the connection line between the 1st PC and the 2nd PC.

After you successfully completed these steps. The next step is to connect these two PC through an IP config. To do this click on the 1st PC and then a popup will come up. From there select 3rd Option Desktop from there you can see the first option Ip Config. Click on the IP Config option. Till these steps, you can refer to the below image

After you complete these steps. Next is to select the first option Ip Configuration Then a popup will come up you need to enter the IP address of this PC in the Ipv4 Address section. In this example, we are entering 192.168.1.1 for the first pc you can see the below image for more detail

Do the same on 2nd PC. First, select the second PC then a popup will come up on the popup go to the third section Desktop. Click on Desktop then you can see the IP configuration option. Select the Ip configuration option and on the IPv4 Address add the IP Address. Here we are giving 192.168.1.2 for the second PC. You can refer to the below image for more detail

Then we are done with adding IP Addresses for 2 PC. The next step is to ping these PC to make sure we get a reply. To do this the first step is Once more click on the First PC Then go to the Desktop Option. After opening the Desktop option click on the 4th option command prompt. Then a terminal will open up. You can refer to the below image to open a command prompt

Click on the command prompt option to open the terminal then only we can check if we get a reply when pinging. In the command prompt of the first pc Enter the command ping 192.168.1.2. Here 192.168.1.2 Is the IP address of the second PC we are pinging from the 1st PC to the 2nd PC. You can see the detail in the below image

As you can see from the above image we successfully get a reply from the second pc. Do the same method on the second pc. Open the command prompt on the second PC. Enter the command ping 192.168.1.1. This will ping the second pc to the first pc. You can see more detail in the below image

As you can see in the above image we successfully got a reply from the first pc when we ping from the second pc. Now we are done with connecting one PC to another PC on Cisco Packet Tracer. Hope you all will enjoy this article.
